Very nice quiet town to be spending a day and night in. The lady boss was very accomodating, we got a ride from Matsumoto Train Station to the ryokan following the phone call to the ryokan when we reached the train station. Rooms were very nice and clean and can borrow the bicycles to explore the area. Very worth it!

this is a very pleasant place to stay. The lady owner is very helpfull and efficient. The futons are very comfortable, the rooms warm. Free bikes are provided to go around Matsumoto. Would definetly stay there again.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. She keeps bikes to loan to the guests, but if there aren't enough (as was the case for us) there are free bikes around the city that can be borrowed for the day. The hostel is a 30-minute walk from Matsumoto Castle and the downtown area. If you stay here, try the ramen shop just a couple blocks away. Fantastic noodles.
