we were booked in to stay here 2 nights originally but had to leave after one!!! there was no ventilation in the room and it was infested with mosquitoes. I got over 200 bites all over my arms and legs just from that one night!!!! also, the location is not as close to town as stated. It is on the main street, but it is a very long street and it is about half an hour walk into town. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

It's a familiar and very quiet place to stay, Mr. Jorge (owner) is kindly and very helpful.

I booked this accommodation, confirmed it with the hostel via email 24 hours before I was due to arrive, and arrived before 12 midday on the date I was booked in for. I did everything i was meant to do, yet when I arrived I was informed that they had no space for me. The man running the hostel rang around a few places, and then drove me to another hostel where the rooms where more expensive, 5 pesos per night more expensive, but as it was easter weekend I had no choice but to accept that hostel. I would therefore like a full refund of the booking fee and deposit paid to you via my Maestro card, and some compensation for all of the hassle incurred, which I`d specifically tried to avoid by booking ahead, and the extra money I had to pay for the other hostel. If somebody books through you and does everything you instruct in order to secure their place in a hostel but still find there is no room for them, there is something seriously wrong with the booking system. Please email me as soon as you receive this, thank you.

We can´t really comment on Mendoza Wine and Sun as when we turned up (with reservation) they turned us away and sent us to Punto Urbano hostel (another cab journey). We guess they were full up. Therefore our ratings are for the hostel we were sent to. Punto Urbano was like the Faulty Towers of hostels. The staff were quite intrusive, walking into dorms and switching on lights when people were sleeping. They don´t have a computer system so had no idea how many beds were free. Lack of common area made this hostel unsociable. To be fair security was ok, in particular, the overconcerned staff wouldn´t let us leave the hotel with valuables for fear we´d be robbed (during the wine festival)... a little overbearing! 3 showers for 30-40 people also sucked. We heard this place was better than wine and sun so I guess should be grateful we ended up here! We suggest you book early and try and get a bed (or hammock) at Hostel Lao. They´re the best in Mendoza!
