Apparently the hostel does not use hostelworld.com any more, and therefore we did not have any reservation. When we asked for a room, we received a very high price, and we were eventually able to haggle down to about a third of that given price. There must be better places to stay in Amman.
The Hotel is completely run down and the value for money rate is not good enough. I paid about 15 JD for a room which did not deserve even one star. Filthy carpets, the bathroom in ruins, smelly bed. I did not change hotel only because it was late in the evening. The kindliness of the staff was high though, and the locatin 2 minutes from the Roman Theatre was excellent. But 5 dollars per room would be more appropriate...

Not impressed except by the staff who did try their best and were friendly. I was booked into the wrong type of room when I arrived (a nice double instead of the 4-bed) though I was assured later that I would only be charged the dorm rate - this promise was upheld. My main issue is that the advert is wholly wrong in places. There is no internet or wireless access anywhere on the property. The restaurant isn't 24-hour. After a certain time, food is ordered out so can take an hour to arrive. Not every room has a fridge and/or cable TV. These are all promised on the listing and are completely false. However. It is the cheapest place I found to stay and the amphitheater is literally around the corner. As I said, the chap and chappess who worked reception did their best with their limited English and my non-existent Arabic for which they do deserve credit.

This Hotel is a little sketchy, but has very friendly service. The Manager or Owner gave us a free ride to the bus station for free in his own car at 6 in the morning. In regard to the physical condition of the hotel, it seemed somewhat worn down but still comfortable. We also received free drinks as soon as we stepped into the hotel
