No.15 Inn is a great place to stay in Lhasa. It is a little out of town, great to get away from the hustle / bustle of lhasa. Zhuzhu & Fang Teng are great hosts. The place is clean and well maintained. There is a bus outside the complex which will take you into town for 1RMB. It is a 20 minute walk to Barkor & 35 minute walk to Portola Palace. If i make it back to Lhasa ,i would only stay at No.15 Inn.

Not too easy to find the hostel. Once we found it, it was very pleasantly decorated, clean and in good condition. We found though that it was freezing at night. It is a decent location, but out of the main area. It took us about 20 minutes to walk in to town. There is a very convenient bus which stops right outside the compound. The english speaking owner was not around, so we were not able to get any local info. That is probably the exception, and we were just there at the wrong time.

A nice quite, although somewhat out of the way guesthouse located in what seemed like a Chinese precinct in Lhasa. Location was reasonable, esp if you want to get away from the excessive noise of Lhasa central, also considering it was only 10RMB to taxi to the city centre. Thank you Tsamla for an enjoyable week.

What can I say??? I enjoyed Tibet a lot, but a lot of my memories will be of this place! This small hostel is located in a quiet suburban area to the south of the Barkhor. Although it's a fair walk from the Beijing Dong Lu area (where a lot of the other hostels and restaurants are) we thought it was a much better place to stay as it meant we weren't constantly surrounded with tourists. It isn't the easiest place to find when you first arrive, but Zhuzhu, the owner, sent us details via email before we arrived and came to meet us on arrival in the area. The rooms are all clean and a good size (especially the first room we were in, which was enormous). The toilets and shower room were clean, but please note that as with most places in Tibet, there are only squat toilets. Zhuzhu speaks English and will do her very best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay in Lhasa. If you want to hang around with a massive group of backpackers in a hostel that could be in any city in China then go elsewhere. If you want to stay in a quieter, comfortable, more local environment, get down to No. 15. We enjoyed it so much I started a facebook group for anyone that stays, with recommendation of places to eat and drink etc. in Lhasa... be sure to check it out!
This does feel more like a homestay than a hostel but i loved it and it was just what i needed at the end of the busy days. The location is a little out the way but taxis take you there very cheaply. I loved it here so if you are looking for something different then this is the place....strongly recommend
