I stayed in the 3 bed private room and it was great. It was very clean and comfy and home like. It was also very quiet even though it was on a busy road. The staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend J-hoppers to my friends and I would stay here again. Thank you.

This is an excellent hostel. It's clean, the staff is helpful, and they are equipped to help you navigate your way around Kyoto. Because it is near Kyoto station, it is rather easy to make day trips to Osaka, Nara, and other cities. In addition, many city buses and subway lines start from Kyoto Station so you can get anywhere with a minimum of trouble. Also, they provide maps of local food establishments so that you can find food if you're not familiar with Japanese cuisine. The common space allows you to meet some of the interesting folks that stay there but the rooms provide reasonable privacy.
Shin, the manager, was amazing and told us where to go and how to get there and overall was super helpful =)
loved our stay at j-hoppers!!! was a welcome relief from our previous hostel... warm water, yay!!!!! thanks guys, would definatly recommend this place in the future! xxx
