Due to the Strike taking place in Cusco. I was not able to stay at the Rupawasi property. In our way to Aguas Calientes the Peru Rail was not able to continue the jeourny to Machu Pichu due to the Strike- Laborers were urning car tires, trees and placing them in the middle of the tracks. It was quite scary. We were stranded for 3 hours waiting to see if there was a resolution between the government and the Laborers. Finnaly the Peru Rail was instructed to returned to Cusco and passengers were not

The climb up the stairs was at first a bit of a nuisance, but getting away from the hectic touristy part of Aguas Calientes was great. The view of the mountains was awesome. The staff were very helpful and friendly, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

The steps to the hostel are a real hassle. It is a long climb and despite their claims you cannot see Macchupicchu from there. Also if you are just back from Macchupicchu and dealing with altitude sickness the steps are tough. Overall okay, but not overwhelming.
