Caravella Backpackers Cairns City Waterfront in Cairns, Australia

Staff was helpful- lady at front pays attention to people. Downside- the place seems run down. The 4 mixed room I had was very small. Beds were uncomfortable, and sagged deeply in the middle. In the lower bunk I raised to get out of bed and hit my face a few times on the sagging wire from the person above me- hardly any personal space left. Also, no lounge, sofas or anywhere to hang out, relax and watch TV. It was either your small room or be outside. Waterfront Backpackers was way better. Trent, from USA ~ 7th Nov 2009

The room wasn't isolated properly so we could hear the people in the room next to us talking and snoring. The bathroom was alright, but they don't clean the rooms properly, it was kinda gross. The floor was dirty so needed to walk around with shoes indoors, the sofa was dirty, and so was the fridge handle. And the beds either moved around or made a lot of sounds when just turning in bed, which was annoying since we stayed in a twin room. Paola, from Sweden ~ 21st Jul 2009
