Circa Auberge L'Apero
Indirizzo: 1425 Mackay, Suite 2, Montreal, Canada
Welcome to Auberge L'Apéro, a European-style hostel in North America's most European city, Montreal. 'Apéro' is the French abbreviation for aperitif - the beginning of a great meal, or in this case - a great vacation.
Located in the heart of downtown, we offer you safe, comfortable accommodations just a heartbeat from the action.
With only 30 beds, we excel at having service and amenities at reasonable prices. Our airy dorms feature comfortable beds, clean linens, and large lockers to keep your belongings safe.
Here, you will find everything you'd expect from a hostel, including the most sought after amenities, like on-site laundry, free Internet access, free self-serve breakfast, free coffee and tea and more. The kitchen is well-appointed and kept clean, and the common room offers a raft of activities.
All this is set on two floors of an old 1880s greystone with interesting architectural features. You won't be bored.
One of the features of our hostel is our beautiful terrace where you can relax and enjoy your continental breakfast in the sunshine, or come back for an apéro at the end of wonderful afternoon of sightseeing before heading out to dinner. Most importantly, there is no curfew so you will be free to explore the city and its famous (and fabulous!) nightlife to your heart's content.
What sets us apart from other hostels is our attention to detail. We treat you as guests, not passers-through, and you will find our personalized service not unlike the service you would find in a hotel.
This isn't just a regular hostel that just happens to be in Montreal - L'Apéro is like Montreal; it reflects the city's vibrant social life and European style. Don't just visit the city; be part of it at Auberge L'Apéro.
Small in size, only 30 beds, Auberge L'Apero offers a cozy, personalized, atmosphere with all the usual amenities, and some nice surprises. Located on Mackay Street, a quiet side street in the city's downtown core, we are close to the subway, steps from a bike path and surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and shopping.
The rooms are large and bright with hardwood floors and some interior brick walls that add an air of coziness. Our beds are very comfortable, with comforters instead of blankets and good pillows. The kitchen is always open and you can have your complimentary breakfast when you want it, not on any set schedule. The same for hot showers, there is no set schedule. Most importantly, there is no curfew so if you like, you can explore the city's famous (and fabulous!) nightlife to your heart's content.
What sets Auberge L'Apero apart from other hostels is our attention to detail. We treat you as guests, not passers-through, and you will find our personalized service not unlike the service you would find in a hotel. Our clientele is friendly and our atmosphere is relaxed and calm.
Where we are is just as important as what we are. L'Apero is within walking distance of many of Montreal's attractions including Old Montreal, Chinatown, the museums of Natural History, Fine Arts, Contemporary Art, Montreal History, and Architecture; and our famous Underground City. We are only a block from the Metro, the city's fast, clean subway system that can whisk you anywhere that is too far to walk, from the Casino on Ile Notre Dame to the boutiques and restaurants of the storied Plateau Mont-Royal. We are just a 15 minutes bus ride from Mount-Royal, Montreal's largest urban park, that offers seasonal sports like cycling, hiking, bird watching, cross-country skiing, toboganning, and snowshoeing.
Although we accept credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), please note they have an associated handling fee of 2,5%.

Prior to my first stay at a hostel, I was hesitant and wasn't sure what to expect. However, my concerns quickly disappeared as I was really impressed by everything at Auberge L'apero. It had a great atmosphere, lots of space, friendly staff, very clean (which is super important to me)! Great value, and I would definitely stay there again. I have already recommended this hostel to a couple friends/travelers! Cecilia, from Canada ~ 10th May 2013
