Hostal Pakay is a beautiful eco-friendly guesthouse, built in a jungle-lodge-style and run by a German-Ecuadorian couple. It´s located in the outskirts of town, surrounded by a huge garden with a lot of jungle feeling. From the bus station it is only a few minutes by taxi or a 15-minute walk.

We are located in a district called 'Barrio 30 de Diciembre'.
Arrival by bus:
If you take a taxi from the bus station, please tell the driver to take you to Hostal Pakay, Barrio 30 de Diciembre.
It's $1 or $1,50 max and only a short ride from main street uphill. From the by pass the taxi needs to enter the small street to the left, then to the right. Where the street ends you are standing in front of our gate. The small street doesn't have a name, but all taxi drivers know 'Barrio 30 de Diciembre' (which has only this one little street).
If you prefer to walk from the bus station, it takes you 15-20 minutes and is not recommendable if you have heavy luggage, especially on hot days!
When leaving the bus station, make sure you are on main street (Av. 15 de Noviembre), turn right and walk by the 'SuperTia' supermarket on the corner. Follow main steet another two blocks, then take the third street (Manuel Maria Rosales) to the left. (There is a Movistar cellphone store on one and a grocery store called 'Lupita' on the other corner, and the street you take goes straight uphill).
Walk the steet all the way uphill. When you reach the by pass (Perimetral), cross it, take the small street to the left, then right and walk till the end of the street, where you find our gate with a small sign.
Arrival on private transportation:
Coming from Quito, you reach the roundabout with the big 'Jumandy' statue. Don't enter the streets leading into town, please take the one heading left ('Perimetral', towards Puyo). You will cross the bridge over the Tena river, then the road goes uphill. You will see the town lying on your right. Take the second street to the left, then turn right and drive to the end of the street where you find our gate with a small sign.
Coming from Puyo, you reach a roundabout after passing a big green glass building on your right side (University). Take the first road to the right (Perimetral, to Archidona/Baeza/Quito). It leads you uphill, the town will be lying on your left.
Before you reach an area with houses along the road you will find our property on the right side of the road, it's fenced and has a gate with a sign. To get to the main entrance you need to take the next street to the right, then again to the right. At the end of the street you find our gate with a small sign.
