The British is the longest established hotel in Valletta, and we are located in one of the city's quaint terraced streets.
This affordable two star, family-owned-and-run-hotel, overlooks the magnificent Grand Harbour. Our restaurant, lounge bar and most of our guest bedrooms offer panoramic views of this historic and picturesque harbour.
Situated two minutes from Valetta's prime shopping area and no more than five from the island's administrative and financial centres, the British Hotel is the ideal base for the holidaymaker and business person alike.
At the British we have 44 comfortably furnished guest bedrooms on six storeys - and most may be reached by lift. Some rooms have A/C at an extra charge daily.
Each room has an en suite bathroom or shower, a writing desk cum dressing table and a telephone for both international and local calls . Rooms have heating and fans. Twin and Triple rooms only have TV. A/C and safe deposits are available at a daily charge in twin and triple rooms only . Also available, is a laundry and dry cleaning service; and for the business person, our fax facility. Most guest bedrooms also have a balcony either on the back street or overlooking Valletta's famed Grand Harbour. (seaview rooms have an extra charge)
In summer and winter you can bask in quiet comfort on our roof-top sundeck, where you can enjoy a snack or a tall, cool drink as you tan.
In the evening take it easy in our lounge bar, or catch up on world news in our television lounge.
Connoisseurs of fine living can expect exquisite cuisine and flawless presentation in our restaurant.
We offer a delightful choice of Maltese food accompanied by the finest wines.

Regarding to the British hotel, it was generally ok with good location near the city center. I´ve booked a single ensuite room, which was situated at the top floor and a lift went only to the 2nd floor (where was a Wifi area as well), so I had to use steep stairway 4 floor up to my room. The room was simply furnished with a bit of musty smell (because of the old building), with everything you need for a short stay, a bathroom was all right. Breakfast was satisfying and staff helpful.
