highly recommended - within 10 mins walking distance of central station and 12-15 mins of esplanade. rooms clean and staff very helpful and multi-lingual. I really enjoyed my stay.

a nice clean and safe hostel. i wasnt there on a holiday so i dont know about the fun. but nice place. but i thought i saw some ghosts in the room... scary.

I didnt knew many fun people but i guess its because helsinki is not the kind of city where many young people go, cause most of the people in the hostel were older and not looking for party. And often i woke up at 8am with a loud construction noise and found out it came from the building next to, also not hostel's falt. The hostel is pretty ok, the staff are very helpful and nice. The only complain is that the shower wets the whole wc, the floor from the toilet is all flat without shower divisi

the room was quite dirty, table tops, inside closets not swept or cleaned. The toilet had a huge permanent and indestructible brown stain, couldn't get rid of it no matter what we did. There could definitely be more opportunities for interaction with others, although the sauna was great for this purpose. Security - are all those locks really necessary?

Very nice place. Even with kitchen, Refridgerator and very clean! A bit far from the harbour but close to the trainstation and beach.

The private room that I stayed in, was neat and clean. The reception staff was friendly and very cooperative. The location of the hostel being very near to downtown Helsinki makes it a very good choice. I'd give Academica a nice 8 out of 10 !
