The only problem was that the heating in the rooms wsn't turned on or the radiator was broken but we never asked the reception for help on that so all in all our stay was really good. The hostel's in a pretty much ideal location and the staff were extremely helpful and accomodating.

location is good, of course. everything else is just D-. they cover their austerity with "coolness". the most pathetic thing was the miserably poor breakfast - actually it's a crime to call that a breakfast. the facts that they did not change the towels and that the elevator was out of order and so on were just pain in the ass. otherwise it was ok.

Great value for money! booked a twin shared bathroom, comfy beds, bright rooms, nice showers, great chillout area and massive kitchen. staff were fantastic, in all we thoroughly recommend - especially after staying at a few other places

We had a great, albeit short, stay at the Avalon. The 24 hour desk service was helpful in getting the bus schedule figured out. The shower didn't drain well which was a little bit of a pain, but otherwise, great stay.

The 14 bed dorms were great, loved the two story aspect. Had a great trip as good location and staff were very friendly and helpful when there was bed mix ups.

My husband and I were in a 4 bedroom bunk. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpfull. Easy to get to off the Bus. Only negatives would be the mixed baths and the fact the showers were push button and would get extreamly hot after the 2nd push. Also they are putting in a new lift so our 3rd floor room was a pretty steap walk up the winding stare case. I would easily stay there again.

Showers are annoying because of the push button activation which automatically stops the water after approximately ten seconds. You have to keep pushing the button over and over and over and over just to keep the water flowing. This made my shower experience terrible and took me a lot more time.

The next time I go to Dublin, I will definitely go to this hostel again! Clean, intimate (even the dorms!), free breakfast and internet, nice kitchen, friendly staff . I don't have anything bad to say about it, especially the location since the hostel is situated 5mns from Temple Bar!

The Avalon House was very organized, fun, and clean. It has a great location, pretty much in the middle of the downtown area and next to many pubs, the shopping area and restaurants. The rooms were clean and we weren't bothered by much noise. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and I would certainly stay here again if I ever come back to Dublin.
