Barnacles Temple Bar House in , Ireland

I just stayed for a night, and the room was empty except for someone who was clearly a resident - which is why it was strange that they had me in the bed directly above him. I didn't spend much time there, but the only food left when I came to the kitchen for breakfast were 2 pieces of bread. The Wi-Fi code was posted, but I couldn't get on. The location was SO convenient to Temple Bar, but that also meant the room was noisy and flooded with light. Overall OK experience. Tricia, from USA ~ 18th Jan 2013

The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast reasonable. The room was very small and hard to access the bathrooms though. For 38 dollars per night on weekend, I would have expected a bit better value- but I guess the location determines the price. Hostel was a little musty and quite noisy at night. This has been the funnest hostel I've spent time in so far, but that is 100% because of the people I met at it, was very easy to meet new people in the lounge area and everyone always willing to have a good time, the facilities were semi-clean, work could easily be done to them but that didnt really matter much to me, as far as the breakfast goes it was a complete pathetic excuse for a breakfast, really no point of it just to say you were making breakfast... bread beside a toaser, thx. Barnacles was EXCELLENT. I've never seen such friendly and helpful staff before. This was the best hostel I've ever stayed in. When we had electrical problems (due to our universal adapter not being so universal) they lent us an adapter for free. When we had to stay an extra night because of luggage delay, they gave us a 10 euro discount. They did all the luggage-airport-hassling for us on the phone and even brought the luggage up to our room, 3 floors by stairs, when it did finally arrive. Yali, from Israel ~ 21st Dec 2012

Good hostel. good location. Cages under the beds to put your bagage into and to lock self with a lock. savety lockers to rent daily at the reception. Breakfast = standard.
