A very nice and somehow cozy place in the center of the city. QuXi Lu is a quiet place in the evening and full of life on daytime. With a cab or subway you are at the hotspots of the city within minutes, so the location is excellent.If you have a singleroom it's not the cheapest place but still payable. The service is great and the cleanliness is for chinese standards above average. The one thing i didn't like were the thin walls. So when people get up at 8 you should bring some earplugs. Don`t take a private without bathroom. First, as mentioned in the description, they don`t have any window and just one bright light at the ceiling, which produces some kind of hospital-atmosphere. Second the shared bathrooms for these privates are not very clean and last, this is the worst, our private had only the size of the bed plus a small place for the luggage - and the reason was not a large bed. The size of the DOUBLE-room was approximately 1,80 x 2,40m. Would not go there again. Malte, from Germany ~ 4th Oct 2012

I really like the staff working in this hostel. They are pretty friendly and eager to help but rather than this, small rooms without windows creates a really closterfobic environment.. Hostel is close to metro but remember that metro in Shanghai stops very early.. So you don't feel satisfied with the money you pay eventually.. Could be more positive if was cheaper..
