Their room was small, but clean. I've never met any staffs durin my staying (it was only 1 night though) but it was easy to do self check-in and out. I rented a car, but it looked good for public transportation as well. They have crappy PCs to do self check-in and you will get most of information that you need from the PC or e-mails from them. This is the second time I've stayed at The Camelot Inn and Hostel and am definitely pleased with it in every way.The location is great as it's right next to the Trax stop and stores are within walking distance. The Hostel is clean with linens and towels being provided. It was definitely a home away from home. I will definitely stay at the Camelot Inn again when I am in Salt Lake City.I came to attend a family history conference at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Camelot Inn is on 800 South and the TRAX stop is just around the corner (900 South) very convenient! I hopped on either the Blue or Green trains and they took me quickly and pleasantly to the Temple Square stop across from the Salt Palace.TRAX will soon have service all the way from the airport into SLC.Nice neighborhood. This place gets way too bad of a rap. It's fantastic. My friend and I had absolutely no issues here on our four-night visit in a private double room. The rooms are great, everything is very clean, the place is secure and the parking lot has cameras monitoring it. If you just follow the rules that they clearly lay out, you won't have any issues or surprise charges hitting your creditcard. Very happy with our time here and would absolutely stay again. The owner Arthur is a very unreasonable guy. When I used the hostels.com to book a 2 bedroom male dorm, he placed me instead in a 4 bedroom male dorm. They don't have any 2 bedroom dorms, but they conveniently leave that bit of detail out. Additionally, they charge a whopping 16% tax on top of what you owe. Beware of the unreasonable tax and fee they charge. Lastly, the man is just unreasonable. Eaman, from USA ~ 19th Dec 2012

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah..... and was returning home to visit family, and explore job opportunities in order to relocate back to Salt Lake. I did not want to impose on any of my many relatives, and sought a lodging alternative for this trip's stay. The Camelot Inn and Hostel is an excellent alternative to a traditional hotel, a stay with relatives, or a friend's couch. I really enjoyed my stay and was impressed at how simple and efficient the "self check-in" process was. Shedrick, from USA ~ 3rd Dec 2012

Camelot Inn was a pleasant experience! The staff is great and welcoming. The self check-in and security and cleanliness is wonderful. The only bad thing was the air conditioning, which was not working properly. But I guess SLC can do most of the year without AC. 4 stars out of 5!! Varun, from India ~ 11th Aug 2012

The hostel was self check in and no staff was present. A phone number was posted and a house phone was available to call but we never in four days saw the owner/manager.There was a very helpful person but he made it clear that he did not work there. We decided to extend our stay an extra day and called to inquire about availability,We were charged the rate we paid PLUS $7 "fees and taxes" which were not disclosed in the phone conversation.More face to face contact would be helpful.
