Hatters Hostel- Liverpool in , England

Great location, the room was basic but had everything we needed, however it was very difficult to sleep on Saturday night because of all the people screaming and banging doors in the hallway all night without the security doing anything to stop or hush them. The breakfast is basic too and the wifi is only available in a tiny room in the basement.It would be better if we could access it from the bedrooms too. Celine, from France ~ 30th Mar 2013

Stay for a weekend though was just over for a weekend from Ireland it was a idea hostel and had a great location just a short walk to all the mnever use the facilitys but did make a point off looking around them and found them to be off a good standard the common room was massive which I was very impress with. The only one thing I would say is the matress on the beds could do with being replace for the springs where coming through them though this did not stop me from getting a good nite sleep. Decent hostel for price bracket and excellent location. Breakfast quite good, though they had relocated the breakfast room without putting up notices, which confused a lot of guests! My dorm was really nice, it was an 8 bed and split into two rooms so it felt quite private, the ensuite bathroom was clean and the addition of shower gel was a nice touch. Wifi is only available in a hotspot in a cold and drafty basement which was disappointing, but it was free and reasonably fast. Lauren, from Australia ~ 12th Jan 2013

Overall an ok place to stay, good for the money and we got a pretty cheap upgrade to a double bed single. It was kinda dirty, we had some moldy spots in our room and the bed was REALY uncomfortable. Good breakfast spread but the kitchens were kinda dirty as well. Gretchen, from USA ~ 3rd Jan 2013

What can I say. The staff really helped me out the first day, but I'm used to a welcoming staff in hostels, and expect them to look up from their phones even if I'm not checking in, just saying hi. The doors slammed like crazy, EVERY door, and that's stupid in an eight bed room. It's also paper walls, so I heard the homeless guy shouting on the streets all night. In all fairness I have to add that my friend who had a private room didn't have the same problems. Also: NO internet in the rooms. Sigri Holm, from Norway ~ 31st Oct 2012

Very complete hostel, organized and big. We had a little trouble carring our lugagge up and downstairs, since the lift was broken (hope they fixed it). The guys in the reception are nice, although nobody cared to help us with the 20k bag heheh. Liverpool is relatively small, so you can get lots of places by walking. Sofia, from Brazil ~ 26th Sep 2012
