MEININGER Hamburg City Center in , Germany

We are a sportsgroup and this was our second stay here. This time only real negative was that the people we shared room with was old and stunk up the place by smelling like cigarettes and alcohol and was loud late at night. When asking to relocate to a diiferent room they where fully booked and it was not possible. My recommendation is to be sure to get your own room if you want a pleasant stay. It was not within walking distance from the main train station, but the connections were short. The rooms are very clean, and even though there were a number of beds in our room, it wasn't at all cramped. Very nice place, nice people, I got to be in a very good quarter mixed meet two good friends of Switzerland, the only bad esque disappeared when I leave my watch in bed. But other than that I love the place Jaime, from Mexico ~ 29th Dec 2012

The only thing I didn't like about staying here was the push-button shower.However, the hostel was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, the location was not too far from a metro station which made getting around quite easy and it was far enough from the city center to be pretty quiet.All and all, I would definitly stay here again. Meininger is always the cleanest and most organised hostels though always a bit more expensive. The room we stayed in had a large single curtain over the double bunk bed which was great for us as we were travelling together but could be pretty annoying if the top bunk wanted it shut and bottom didnt! The curtain made it nearly pitch black though! Kitchen facilities were excellent and there are lots of places to hang out.
