The hostel itself was good. We had a dorm with three beds which was great. The staff was horrible, they took forever to acknowledge us when we came to check in. They were never willing to give us instructions to go places. You have to buzz the hostel to get in, but the security is horrible. They never check to see who is buzzing while letting them in, so there was always homeless people inside. Our room was just up to stairs so we didn't really feel safe. The staff was very nice.The room (I stayed in a 4 women ensuite) is ok size, also the bathroom.Not sure how often they wash the blanket and pillow tho. The location is great! Even though i got wrong reservation, they helped me stay there. Also bed was not that bad, good for me anyway. I got the airport pick up which costed 13 bucks. Thanks to that I could get the flight at the right time. (Because there were many people at that time, in the morning at 5:30) You can make waffle for ur breakfirst either. It´s well located, near (enough) Metro and Bart Stations. Downtown San Francisco has a lot of homeless people and drug (crack?) addicted people, be careful when going outside especially at night. My experience was positive.I was only there for one night so my experience is obviously not extensive.Great location in downtown S.F.While the staff were not effusively warm & friendly, neither were they rude or surly & that's a balance I can live with.A simple, clean, inexpensive hostel in the heart of the city.It's all I ever ask for.
