It was a very nice hostel. It was clean and centrally located. Within close walking distance to Vatican City and the rest of Rome was easily accessible. There was also a really cool area with great places to eat nearby that was not touristy at all, and therefore cheap and delicious. The free breakfast was good. The bathrooms was clean as were the rooms. They had good wifi and computers that could be used. The staff was friendly and helpful and the other guests were respectful. Overall, very nice Ayla, from USA ~ 7th Apr 2013

LOVED this hostel! As a solo-female traveler I felt very safe here, and the location was great. The Trastevere neighborhood was a fantastic place to eat and wander, and the Vatican is quite close. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect in a hostel breakfast (but with better coffee!) and was open longer than advertised. Only downside: I would get a private room, as the wall separating my dorm from the next didn't go all the way to the ceiling, so the room next door was sometimes disruptive. Great location, good breakfast variety, assistance with calls and airport shuttles, and generally a good, quiet vibe. Not an exciting place for those wanting connections or nightlife. English seems to be the default common language among guests. JOAN, from USA ~ 13th Feb 2013

Very nice peaceful hostel. Very spacious bedrooms (i stayed in 4 bed dorm with private bathroom), comfortable beds, large lockers with keys, very clean. Located in a nice area, close to vatican city, plenty of bars and restaurants. It wasn't a party hostel, or a social hostel, so maybe not the best if you want to meet other people - but lovely if you want to avoid the typical hostel vibe. I LOVED Orsa Maggiore! The hostel is in a great location, and the staff were super helpful in pointing out major monuments in relation to the hostel. The staff were also really flexible about hours for checking out and curfew. It's very clean, and my bed was made for me! I felt very safe in a hostel only for women, and everyone also gets a closet with a lock. I highly recommend this hostel! Maura, from USA ~ 31st Oct 2012

Very nice and quiet, not loud at all, walking distance from the most important places, the breakfast was good. Do not expect to find a lot of party and very young atmosphere, but you will feel definitely comfortable. romina, from Argentina ~ 17th Aug 2012

I enjoyed my time at Orsa Maggiore. It was good value for the money. The only problem is that it's not easily accessible with public transit. But I appreciated the elevator, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommendable as a hostel stay. Karianne, from Canada ~ 20th Jul 2012

I wanted so badly to like this hostel because I found it quite interesting, being that it was a ex convent.Although, it was extremely hot during the night. And all the women in my room except me got bed bugs. The breakfast was pretty meager too. Caitlin, from USA ~ 15th Jul 2012
