The staff was incredibly helpful and very enthusiastic at all hours. The rooms were small for the number of beds it had, but it was worth it for the location right next to the main train station. Wifi and locker usage was excellent. Bathroom was good too. Claudia, from USA ~ 3rd May 2013

Suggestions for improvement:Heating was a bit too hing in our room without ability to reduce it. A toilet brush would have been handy. :) A bit bigger cooking facility to accommodate many guests. To be fair, I didn't get a completely accurate read on this hostel because it is in the midst of renovations. I did not know this upon booking, but since I didn't spend all that much time in the hostel, it didn't really interfere with my plans too much. Catherine, from USA ~ 21st Mar 2013

I loved the Smart Place. Great value. Gare du Nord is so close which allows you to go anywhere in Paris My only real complaint was that it was pretty hot in my room. The wifi works the best when you're downstairs in the lobby which I believe is a good thing because it allows you to engage with other guests. I was actually sad to leave because the lobby felt so inviting. The staff was so friendly. One member in particular made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. I liked Smart Place Paris, I stayed here for 2 days and it was good value for money. It is very close and easy to get to the hostel from Gare du Nord, really just 2 minutes down the street which was very convenient. Gare du Nord itself is quite a busy and congested area, so I liked how the hostel was off a side street and even though my room was facing the street it was nice and quiet. The room itself is clean and tidy, the shower was lovely! I would stay here again Kal, from England ~ 17th Feb 2013

Great location for those (as I was) who have never been to Paris, it's extremely close to the Gar du Nord train station that you can take to get into Paris from CDG airport and easy to find. It's close to the Red Light district but the neighborhood it is in is fine and honestly I wouldn't be worried about the Red Light district anyway. You get a free breakfast buffet which is extremely convienent and awesome, but I would say the best part about it was that there is a bathroom with your room! Lincoln, from USA ~ 21st Jan 2013
