Vertigo Centre in , France

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Vertigo. It's a great place to meet fellow travelers and enjoy Marseille. It's really close to the main train station and the walk down to the Vielle Porte waterfront is a nice walk going down and there are lots of side streets to explore with little shops and things. Marseille is a great city to explore and I highly recommend the Vertigo Hotel. My only wish is that they had a stove so we could have cooked more. The hot plate was limiting. This is definitely my favorite hostel that I have stayed in while traveling in Europe. The atmosphere is great. it's just a stones throw away from the st. Charles train station and the port (which is lined with restaurants and different stores to shop in). The people who stay here are great, lots of backpackers. Really enjoyed our stay here. I highly recommend it! One note: The showers are chilly at best, we never had hot water the entire time we were there just a very minor issue, though. Wyndham, from USA ~ 22nd Nov 2012

The location is great, right by the train station and with walking access to the bars/Vieux Port. There's a bar, kitchen, and common area that make it very easy to meet people. Nice hostel.Very clean.I went in the offseason, but I bet it could be very fun there.It has a bar and other amenities.The neighborhood is a bit rough however.It is however close to the train station and the port area. David, from Canada ~ 9th Oct 2012
