We couldn't get hot water from the shower in the morning. The shower operates with a push button, the only control. All that came out was cold water. The cots were creaky, but much warmer than we'd expected. The toilet was very clean. The mood was depressing. We won't go back.

The place was ok. Only stayed for one night. The linens smelled and had been used quite frequently and didn\'t seem to have been washed. The owner though was very helpful and easy to talk to.

great little hostel. it's just a jump away from glendalough. however, for being such a potential hub for glendalough, there's no public transportation out there. i hitch hiked, wich was not by choice. the surrounding country is beautiful, but there's not much to do otherwise, hence the lower location and fun ratings. the staff was friendly and accomodatiung and i met some cool people there. i would recommend it to anyone looking for some great walking and scenery and potentially people interested in glendalough with the disclaimer that getting from rathdrum to glendalough can be challenging.
