Very dirty hostel and bad ambient, few showers

It was on the high street, very convenient to go to Morrisons and M&S. The stairs smell strange. Not very clean, however, the linen was all right. The bed was the worst that I have experienced. It was so noisy that I dare not to make any movement when sleeping, in order not to wake up other people. The lockers were so small that it could only hold something with the size of a watermelon. Very interesting paintings on the wall.

The location of this hostel was very good, and the bathrooms/showers were fine. The staff, however, were extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, and were being complained about by a wide spectrum of guests. This didn't really lend us towards a positive opinion of the hostel, and I wouldn't choose to go there again. The rooms were quite small, and the atmosphere in general is very cramped.

Eastgate is a wonderful place to stay and has really friendly staff! The location was perfect for everything and its easy to travel around and still find your way back. We even has a pub crawl with one of the staff and heard a band also staying in the hostel.
