We are offering \'Backpacker-Rooms\'. These are single- or double rooms that do not have a seaview or a balcony. But they are refurbished and clean. Breakfast is available for 5,00 Euro per person and day.
Come to us and for once you will not have to choose between the mountains and the sea. You will find us on a rocky plateau above the sea; located right at the village\'s entrance one of the first buildings on your left.
Agia Galini lies within a protected bay on the Libyan sea. The Psiloritis (2456 m high) forms the mountainous back of the village, which protects us from cold winds and many clouds from the North. Usually until April you have the possibility to cast your eye from our hotel or your beach chair onto its snow covered summits.
The Sun shines upon Agia Galini an incredible 360 days of the year, and can get very hot. Poor Ikarus had to notice that, when he started his flight from here. You find both the statues and the caves of Ikarus and Dedalos right next to the port.
The village itself climbs the slope like the ranks of an amphitheatre and thus enables you many splendid views of the sea and the island Paximidia, just off the coast. Cars only drive on the main street, which ends at the free of charge parking area inside the port.
After having watched our fishermen unload their catch or botch up their nets, our small alleys and stairs invite you to take a stroll through the large variety of kafenions, taverns and restaurants.
Within the florally decorated centre of village you furthermore find souvenir shops, supermarkets, fruit shops, boutiques, jewellers, pottery and much more.
At the Hotel Galini Mare the beach, which was awarded the blue flag in 2009, lies at your feet. The walk downhill from the hotel merely takes three minutes. From the port you can follow the promenade for approx. 600 metres. During the main season you can relax at the beach with a cool drink almost around the clock. Of course you also find a supermarket, several restaurants and a provider for water sports there. If you are looking for a beach holiday, you are most certainly in good hands at our hotel.
On your way to reception you cross our lovely courtyard filled with plants. The impressing lemon tree will present you with plenty of shade during your breakfast.
