Fattoria Bassetto is located in Certaldo, in the Tuscan countryside, 1 hour by train from Florence city centre.

For a true taste of Tuscany and the 'bella vita' in an authentic XIVth century setting, visit us at the Fattoria Bassetto. We are located in Certaldo, in the belly button of Tuscany in a beautiful region of vineyards, olive groves and medieval towns.

Fattoria Bassetto was formerly a convent of Benedictine monks that was always open to pilgrims passing through. In 1998, our family opened Fattoria Bassetto again to travellers with the same notion of hospitality as the monks centuries ago. We wanted our guesthouse to be unique in terms of setting and location, a place you would want to return to at night and somewhere to relax from city life.

Meander through landscapes sculpted by sunflowers, rolling hills and farms either on foot, bicycle or on one of our mini-van tours (June-Sept). Day trips by public transport are easy from Certaldo, so go exploring to see the splendours of Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and other towns which are less than an hour away.

You can try your hand in the communal kitchen with Tuscan recipes from our cooking classes, sample local wines, or do little more than put your feet up in the hammocks or take a swim in our swimming pool.

There is something for everyone here.
