Thorney How is a three-star quality independent hostel in Grasmere, the heart of the Lake District.
We are currently offering a Camping Barn with eight bed spaces in unfurnished shared dorm type accommodation with shower and toilet facilities.
Users of the Camping Barn will be able to access all our other main house facilities such as dining room / bar / lounge / self catering kitchen / drying room / free wifi etc.
You will need to bring your own bedding, or you can hire this for an additional charge.
Once your booking has been confirmed you can additionally order breakfast, lunch or evening meals. We prefer evening meals to be ordered in advance of arrival. We also have film nights, electric bike hire and electric car charging points - see our website for details.

Our hostel is a family-owned and operated traditional Lakeland residence with private grounds. A kennel is available for up to two dogs.

Please note: All bookings are provisional until you provide a non-refundable deposit equivalent to the first nights accommodation fee. We will not hold bookings for more than 14 days otherwise. For groups larger than 6 we require the non returnable payment in full eight weeks prior to the take up of the booking. Bookings will only be held for a maximum of two weeks whilst awaiting a deposit payment. A kennel facility is available for up to 2 dogs. No pets are allowed in the property or to freely roam publicly accessible areas of the grounds.
