Troka Prewar Residence & Coffee Bar is situated in the historical city of Melaka. The building was established before the 1st World War in 1914, and is one of the best preserved in town. The surrounding lanes are lined with classic colonial mansions.
Operating a 24-hour front desk, Troka Prewar Residence features a modern touch of decor. Cosy and comfortable 7 rooms, simply furnished with a desk, shelf drawer and personal safe can accommodate up to 21 guests at time. All rooms come with shared bathroom/toilet and hot shower facilities. Free WiFi, hairdryers and an ironing service are available too. Car and Bicycle rental upon request.
At Troka Prewar Residence, guests can approach the friendly staff at the reception for information regarding tour excursions, nearby attractions and sightseeing activities. Decent hostel. We were in a 8 bed fan room with 2 fans. It gets pretty hot at night, so I'd recommend grabbing one of the top bunks if you can, the bottom bunks don't get much air. If you attract mozzies, it'll be a good idea to put some repellent on before bed. There's a great noodle restaurant right across from the hostel that's only open at night. All the attractions are walking distance. Decent wifi. Breakfast is 2 pieces of toast with butter & jam. Free coffee and tea at any time. Julie, from Canada ~ 10th Mar 2013
