Below you are 15 rehearsal and recording studios, the epicenter for thousands of local musicians focused on the creative process of rehearsal, performance, and education in their craft. Be immersed in our stylishly decorated rooms and halls featuring aluminum laser printed photographs of the most prominent figures in the musical history of the Bay Area, all while staying comfortably connected at the crossroads of the city’s present day music scene along with it’s storied past. Feel free to wander into the lower level to check out this exciting vibe!
Located in the vibrant Polk Gulch neighborhood, dozens of varied and excellent food, beverage, and entertainment options are within steps of Music City Hotel. Tourist attractions and neighborhoods such as Chinatown, Union Square, North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Haight Ashbury, and the Mission District are all located either within walking distance or a short bus ride away thanks to our convenient and central location. With options ranging from four person and six person dormitories, to private rooms with shared restrooms, all the way to junior suites with a kitchen and bathroom, there is enough variety here to fulfill almost every style of travel and budgetary need.
Upon check-in, a photo identification and debit/credit card is required. Please note that 16.25% tax is not included. We do NOT accept any cash.
We have Free WiFi in all our guest rooms, as well as throughout the property.
The front desk is open from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, seven days a week. If you are arriving after this time (11pm) you will need to call or email us at least 48 hours before check in for special late check in instructions.
Please note that fully equipped music rehearsal rooms are located directly below the Hotel/Hostel, however the music is off by 11:30pm daily. If you are an artist or musician then please inquire within about free rehearsal time for hotel and hostel guests!

The newly renovated Encore Express is centrally located near Van Ness and Union Square shopping districts. The Encore Express features 18 guest rooms with a mix of dormitory accommodations, shared hall bath and private bath guest rooms.
Each room comes with Bunk Beds, one Double bed or one Queen bed, vanity sinks, work station, phone and a cable TV. Shared bath guest rooms include all the same amenities found in our deluxe rooms. Showers and restrooms are found in four convenient locations just down the hall from the bedrooms. New Registration Desk located at 1353 Bush Street room 107.
Upon check-in at the photo identification and credit card is required. All special requests are subject to availability upon check-in. Special requests cannot be guaranteed and may incur additional charges. 15.5 % Tax is not included.
We have Free WIFI in all our guest rooms. If you have your laptop or phone with wireless access to the internet. You will be able to log in to our Hotel wireless any where in the hotel.
Our New 4 beds female Dorm room and 4 beds boy Dorm room include lockers, vanity sinks, mini fridge, work station, phone and a cable TV. Please note that no check in will be allow to Dorm rooms after 11:00pm. Guest must check in before 11:00 PM, unless all 4 beds is reserved for same group.

There are many different ways to get to our property by using public transportation. The best and shortest way to get to our property is by using the BART (subway) and Muni system. Here are directions from San Francisco International Airport to our property:
At San Francisco International Airport, go to the BART station located near the International Terminal on the Departures side.
Board a Pittsburg/Bay Point train, and get off at the Civic Center Station.
From Civic Center Station, exit onto Market Street then walk towards the intersection of Market and Hyde Street.
Board Muni Bus # 19-Polk towards Beach Street and Polk.
Get off the # 19 bus on the corner of Polk and Sutter Streets.
Walk north on Polk Street toward Fern Street.
Make a right onto Bush Street, and we should be on the right hand side of the street at 1353 Bush Street.
