Located in the heart of the historic old town, our hostel has been given a 3 STAR RATING by SCOTTISH TOURIST BOARD. Five minutes from the bus station and all local attractions. Lively hostel with a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff who will advise you on bookings and travel arrangements. Newly fitted self catering kitchen, large lounge/dining room, with SATELLITE TV and DVD, free tea/coffee, wifi, and no curfew. Book a bed ahead service. Children and groups welcome - dorm room with 6/8 beds. Book early for summer months.
Local attractions include St. Andrews Cathedral, Castle, St. Rules Tower, St. Marys House, Holy Trinity, Royal Golf Club and Sea Life Centre.

Though there might have been bedbugs, as repeatedly reported in the tripadvisor page, we were not bothered. staff was friendly and atmosphere was nicely laid back. we didn't find the facilities lacking at all... except for an untidy and vaguely smelly kitchen. Alfredo, from Italy ~ 8th Nov 2012

We reserved a 5 -bed room for 4 adults.1 mattress and 1 bed were completely unusable. One of our party suffered from bedbugs and had a violent reaction with about 6 bites, each 10 cm diameter and blisters on top like grapes. Kitchen was dirty. The hostel had been left in charge of an 18 year old inexperienced foreign girl.
