With effect from 28th June 2012, all flights to and from Kunming will be operated from new Chang Shui International Airport which is about 25 Km northeast of downtown.
From new airport to Camellia Hostel:
1) Take Express bus no.1, get off at Xinyin Xiaoqu 新迎小区. Take a taxi to the hostel direct (Taxi fare costs around ￥12);
2) Take Express Bus no.2, get off at Kunming Railway Station 昆明火车站 Change bus no.25 to Dong Jia Wan 董家湾, change bus No.5 on the opposite side of the road, get off at next stop Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆. Walk back 1 minute, hostel on your left. (if you prefer to walk, walk towards the crossing, follow Dong Feng Dong Rd 东风东路westbound for 10 minutes, the hostel is on your right);
3) Take Light Rail (Metro 09:00-18:00) to East Bus Station, Change bus 193, to Yunnan You Dian Bin Guan 云南邮电宾馆，Change Bus no. 89, get off at next stop Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆. (Instead of taking bus no.89, follow Dong Feng Dong Rd 东风东路westbound for 10 minutes, the hostel is on your right).
Airport Express Buses run average 20-30 minutes interval or 10-15 minutes during peak hours. (Service available: 05:00-22:00; Ticket fare is ￥20).
Taxi from Airport to hostel direct around ￥100. City bus fare is ￥1-2, usually no change given.
Railway Station: 3km from railway station. Take bus 25, change bus 5 at Dong Jia Wan 董家湾 , get off at Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆'(only 1 stop), then walk backwards for 2-3 minutes. The hostel is on your left. Taxi costs around RMB15.
West Long Distance Bus Station: Take bus 82, change bus 5 at Yi Shu Ju Yuan 艺术剧院', get off at Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆' (3 stops). The hostel is on the other side of the road. Taxi costs RMB40.
East Long Distance Bus Station: Take bus 193 to Yunnan You Dian Bin Guan 云南邮电宾馆' , change bus 89 to Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆' (only 1 stop), then walk backwards for 2-3 minutes. The hostel is on your left. Instead of changing bus, you can follow 'Dong Feng Dong Road 东风东路', walk westward for 7-10 minutes. The hostel is on your right. Taxi costs around RMB20.
North West Long Distance Bus Station: Take bus 1, change bus 89 at De Sheng Qiao 得胜桥', get off at Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆' (3 stops). The hostel is on the other side of the road. Taxi costs RMB60.
South Long Distance Bus Station: Take bus 103, change bus 5 at 'Dong Jia Wan 董家湾', get off at Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆'(only 1 stop), then walk backwards for 2-3 minutes. The hostel is on your left. Taxi costs around RMB40.
North Long Distance Bus Station: Take bus 182 to last stop Ju Hua Cun 菊花村' , change bus 5 and get off at Sheng Ti Yu Guan 省体育馆' (3 stops), then walk backwards for 2-3 minutes. The hostel is on your left. Taxi costs around RMB40.
Metro: Under construction. Will be ready by the end of 2013. The station is next to the hostel.
