Directions to Globetrotters Inn, San Francisco
From SF airport:
Shared-ride van shuttles are available from the airport and will take you straight to our hostel. A less expensive alternative is the BART train (Bay Area Rapid Transit). It takes about 35 minutes and costs $8.10. BART trains leave the airport about every 15 minutes. For schedules, please go to www.bart.gov . Get off at the Powell St. station stop, which is downtown San Francisco. It is the station after the Civic Center station and before Montgomery St. You will need to come up the stairs to the street level and look for Cyril Magnin St., to the left of the Bank of America. Go uphill (north) on Cyril Magnin St. one block, and you will reach Ellis Street. Turn left (west) on Ellis, walk one block, and cross Mason St. After crossing Mason St., you will immediately reach a Thai restaurant on the corner called Old Siam, which has a green, illuminated awning. Just after Old Siam, there is a gray door with a white hanging sign with the word 'HOSTEL' in black lettering. The address is 225 Ellis St. and the door says 225. Press the buzzer to the right of the door and we will let you in.
From the Transbay Terminal (Greyhound Station)
Take the 38 Geary Muni bus right outside the bus station on Mission St. to Geary and Taylor St, cross Geary and walk down Taylor to Ellis St. When you get to Ellis St. make a left and walk one block. We are on the right side, at 225 Ellis St.
From the Amtrak Station
Catch the F-Market street car which runs along Market St. Get off at Powell and Market St. Walk up Powell to Ellis St. Make a left on Ellis and walk two blocks to Mason. We are on the corner of Ellis and Mason, above Old Siam Thai Restaurant.
From the Caltrans Depo
Take the 30 or 45 bus to Stockton and Sutter St., walk down Stockton to Ellis St, walk along Ellis to Mason. We are at the corner of Ellis and Mason above Old Siam Thai Restaurant, at 225 Ellis St. On foot, just walk up 4th St.
