I had a TERRIBLE experience. It was noisy. Some of the people who stayed there were more like indigent locals who stank and seemed mentally ill.The gentlemen who bunked under me was suffering from some kind of horrible cough and I suspected it may have been TB.My locker was nearly broken into and guy 'on duty' was nasty and couldn't care less. A nice hostel in a good location with plenty of transport links nearby. Not too far to walk to downtown Vancouver and the sports stadiums. Private rooms well priced and bathrooms spacious and kept clean. I´d stay here again. Martin, from England ~ 20th Aug 2012

Not the best location, tiny rooms, no atmosphere. It does the job. Naomi, from Australia ~ 18th Aug 2012

Some staff members put more efforts in their job than others for sure! Katharina, from Germany ~ 15th Aug 2012

Well it's a hostel not an hotel so of course it's not as pretty and clean but it's good value for money! We stayed twice and both rooms were ok with fridge and TV and fan. Just be conscious that the location of the hostel is close to the train and bus station (very useful)but also a few blocks away from Hastings (a bad neighbourhood)but we had a look at the other hostels in Vancouver and they have also pros and cons (above clubs or bars and also lots of homeless, prostitutes,...) Perhaps we had a bad room, but even a good room wouldn't fix the neighborhood. Some obviously compromised people were hanging about, and as the evening approached a few working women as well. Nowhere nearby to eat, and poor access to public transportation. We forfeited our remaining payment and were glad to do it. Bad neighborhood. Smelled slightly of urine. Next door to strip club. No alcohol policy not enforced. Tiny, stiflingly hot room. Dirty walls. Understaffed. No security on Dorothy, from USA ~ 8th Aug 2012

- The staff is very friendly - It's located one block from Chinatown, two blocks from a skytrain station - Plenty of bus lines around (Easy to reach downtown) - Bring wet towels (for door knobs and light switches you'll have to interact with) - Make sure to wear sandals when you go to take a shower The price is cheap and the place also is... Perfect place if your goal is to spend money on fun stuff instead of on an expensive sleep... Myriam, from Canada ~ 8th Aug 2012

Okay value for money sine Vancouver is pricy. Room close to toilet made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Window could not open and no aircon made it quite hot. Nice people at front desk. Maria, from Denmark ~ 5th Aug 2012

For the money its a good hostel. But there are much nicer once out there. The location is great. You can easily walk to downtown. The staff has had nice recommendations what to do in Vancouver. Only thing I could not understand, was that the kitchen closed at 10PM and was kept closed to the morning. The staff was very aware of the noise, that was made. For my opinion it was a bit to much in a hostel. Felix, from Germany ~ 28th Jul 2012

This hostel was great! The host was extremely helpful. He showed us all the best places to go and the ones to avoid and marked them on a map for us. There were two kitchens, a free computer to use, free WiFi and you were able to store your baggage and use the facilities (even the shower) before and after checking in.
