California Dreams Backpacker's Hostel in , Amerika

The owner of this hostel is friendly and hospitable. Some of the other staff however have a tendency to make you feel unwelcome. I stayed on the private side that consisted of two private bedrooms each containing a bunk bed. The two private rooms share a bathroom and kitchen that are only for the private guests. However, the staff also uses the private bathroom and kitchen, making it not so private. I had a hard time sleeping here because of the noise at night. Melissa, from USA ~ 22nd Mar 2013

Great location with a friendly laid back staff.Can't beat a place half a block from the beach with a Mexican take out place next door, coffee shop across the street, liquor store and laundry within a block and in Pacific Beach.It's like a bad mullet, surf up front and party in the back.Seriously though, a really great hostel experience. Small hostel, nice staff, simple but clean. Guests seem to be mostly surfers (= close to the sea) and backpackers. Everything is quite simple e.g. in the kitchen, help yourself and clean up afterwards. No lounge, just the kitchen and a couch at the reception as common spaces. Bars for partying are nearby, however it is quiet in the night. Free bikes and surf boards. Internet is sometimes quite slow. Christoph, from Germany ~ 10th Nov 2012

This hostel is located 2 minutes away from the beach and is ideally situated near many fun bars and restaurants. It is a smaller, more intimate hostel. Just for your knowledge, you are not able to access wireless internet in your room and have to go to the common area. Angela, from Canada ~ 18th Aug 2012
