Super cute old house. One of the last remaining old brick house in a neighborhood of new apartment condos. Its great to see a little bit of history. Friendly staff. Wonderful lounge space, the bathrooms are awesome! Though security is based on pincodes, so if you checked out, you could still get in. Came back during the day to find cockroaches in the room. They lost the reservation so I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor...thankfully it was comfy...probably had cockroaches walking all over me that night. Would have like to see mattresses that had covers on them to help prevent bed bugs since they are becoming more and more common but we didn't see anyof those thank God!!! Capital View is great: clean, quiet, relatively inexpensive for the location (about a 10 minute walk from the National Mall).Front desk service is limited (10:00-10:00 I believe), so if you arrive before check-in you will be unable to store your bags ahead of time (unlike other hostels, which have 24 hour reception service).Otherwise no complaints, would recommend this place to anyone. My overall experience was fairly nice. Clean place, hot showers, great location. However, the guy who checked me in was not very attentive or considerate. My biggest complaint is that online, the hostel claims there is parking. "Parking" means hopefully you will be one of the lucky six who can find a spot on the one street that doesn't have meters. Turns out I parked too close to a stop sign and received a fifty dollar ticket. That ruined the remainder of my trip. Thanks, Capital View. Paige, from USA ~ 14th Mar 2013
