I feel so fortunate to have found CocoMama.We were only in Amsterdam for 3 days and the location couldn't have been better.The staff was full of suggestions and so friendly.The common area and kitchen had everything a traveler could want.The entire hostel has unique charm that I was grateful to experience. The most welcoming hostel I've stayed in. Nothing better than being greeted with a coffee and a thorough intro to Amsterdam! The six bed dorm was VERY cramped and the lockers are only big enough for valuables, not luggage. It's a shame breakfast isn't included for what you pay, but the kitchen facilities are second to none which makes cooking a homely experience. The room we were assigned to was too cold. Given that it was wintertime. However, I think there was someone wrong with the insulation of our room because the rest of the hostel was fine. I had to get four extra blankets! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and obliging. I loved their hospitality and the tour at the beginning of our stay. Everyone was sweet! Couldn't love it more!!It's a small cozy hostel, with lovely staff, very clean and organized, all the basics you would expect, but it goes further. The atmosphere is very nice, not the 'alternative' you can find sometimes but there's still room for partying and getting to know people. I've been there twice and the people staying there were always great to hang out with. The girls that work there also take people to pub crawls and create activities in the hostel. Thumbs up girls! - Very friendly & helpful staff. - Excellent kitchen facilities - w/ nice living area to socialise(not that we did) - A 15 minute walk to Trouw ( amazing nightclub) - Tram stop to everywhere you need just outside the building - Comfy bed / Shame about the pillow! - Located in a very quiet & safe area I have no issues with Cocomama at all! The building, staff, and amenities are all top notch and very deserving of their score.The location was in a nice quiet area, but it took a few minutes to get into the center of the city.The only part I would have to say needs improvement would be WiFi speeds, but I may simply be asking for too much. I really enjoyed my stay here! The cleanliness was outstanding, the rooms so spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, ALWAYS ready to assist. The only thing you may take into account is the location, since it's quite away from the city center. Anyway, you can reach it by tram without any problem.
