Aaron the hostel owner is what gives this hostel its charm. He knows the city very well and can really help you maximize you time in the D.F.. This is a great place to stay if its your first time in Mexico City or if you want a nice laid back atmosphere on your trip....if you are someone who needs to be:
a) right in the middle of everything
b) afraid to take a bus
c) want to party all night and sleep all day

The Hostel was great, clean, safe and secure, my only issue was that it was a fair walk to almost anywhere. The Hostel closes between 12 and 4 which can be a bit annoying if you want to just hang around. Aaron & Miguel are great and will help with anything. Overall, i would recommend this Hostel to those looking for a comfortable, quiet place to stay!
Dear James:
Txs for your coment, we understand that you wanted to sleep all day long, this hostal is for travelers that like to visit the city and let us do our job to make the cleanest hostal in mexico city, also because we are in a very rich area of the city(polanco) makes the hostal a secure one, we are walking distance to the Antropology museum and the castle in chapultepec park, but you have to take transportation to the city center. our strenght also is our personal service to each one of our only 18 guest, in a very comfortable house, not a big hostal and not big dorms. We had an excellent time at Hostal Montejo. From the very moment that we arrived, Aaron made every effort to ensure that we were having a great time. He recommended excellent places for food and even sat with us for ages to try and plan out our days and sights to see. More than anything, Aaron saved our trip. We had made plans to visit other parts of Mexico afterwards and, if it were not for Aaron, our plans would have turned out to be a disaster. Thanks for an amazing time in Mexico City and fo

What a find! Hostal Montejo was suggested by an acquaintance in Cuernavaca who had only heard of it... I was happy to let her know that it's a real gem, located within walking distance of Chapultepec Park. My attitude toward Mexico City was much improved by my stay at the hostel. Manuel & Aaron were both were gracious and helpful.

The best thing about Hostal Montejo was the staff. Aaron, particularly, always had bits of advice on where to go and how to get there. He went out of his way to make sure that I was having a good time.
Otherwise, the hostal was usually quiet so one could rest at night--and always clean. You should bring a towel.
