Might be a good idea to invest in some higher quality dead bolts for the rooms. did not feel safe at all with the wimpy little bolt lock on the door. Otherwise, I liked my stay there well enough. Wyndham, from USA ~ 17th Nov 2012

The hostel was nice but in a run down part of the city with ladies of the night standing at the corner. It was fine by me everyone has to make a living but I don't thing this hostel is for the faint of heart. The owners are a nice couple who don' t speak any English at all, actually the whole city is like that. My impression of Algeciras, there is too much animosity between the UK and Spain over Gibraltar, so people seem a little less courteous to English speaking people. In our room was an awfull smell and the bedsheets had stains. We had asked for a bathroom but you couldn't really call this a bathroom. It was just a toilet and a shower behind a wall of glass where you could see trough. It was also open at the top so you could hear each other while going to the toilet. The doors of the bathroom didn't open properly because when we closed them we couldn't get out anymore. Although the staff was very friendly. The hostel was very near to the bus station and to the center of Algeciras, the room was good but the toilets were separated from the room by a tiny plastic panel reception was very good but is better to speak in spanish. P.S by night the area around the hostel is a little disreputable Lorenzo Jacopo, from Italy ~ 11th Mar 2012

For the same price as two spots in a 10 bed dorm in Madrid, we were delighted by our cute & cozy private room with en suite bath stocked with plenty of towels. It was very quiet, easy to find (signs led the way) the staff was friendly (Spanish-speakers) and figured out how to communicate what was needed. The in-room heater worked well.
