Great value place to stay: perfect location, pleasant accommodations, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired (everything was too sugary/sweet!) but otherwise we enjoyed our stay here. Nathan, from USA ~ 14th May 2013

It was absolute pleasure to stay at Hostel La Candelaria, in Valladolid,Mexico. I spent eight days there during February 2013 and found everything from the staff, to the beds, to the location to be a wonderful experience.While this is NOT a complaint, as the water in the showers were hot and plentiful, I found it amusing that they did not have shower heads. There were so many good things about this Hostel.The front desk people were very helpful and friendly.The dining area and garden were such a treat. This hostel was amaizing that every details are well thought before..they have lovely garden two kitchen one is at the garden which is great and people who work are so friendly..for me just because of hostel would stay longer in vallodolid..and the owner, Tanya she is amazing! thank you for excellent hosting.. Hostel La Candelaria was more than expected! Having read decent review online, I figured it would be a good spot to crash for a night or two on my trip throughout the Yucatan, but upon meeting the great staff and seeing the place, we didn't want to leave! Great location with easy access to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam, a beautiful city to experience and explore and a helpful staff with hints on good restaurants in the area, hidden cenotes in town and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home!
