Isaacs Hostel in Sorrento, Ierland

overall this hostel is good. location is okay. right next to it, there are some train tracks for there rail system. depending on the location of your room could be annoying for me it didnt bother much. hostel has huge lockers for your things if your arrive early, has laundry room, and free wifi Unberto, from USA ~ 10th Jan 2012

The room wasn't very clean, I had plenty of hairs on my sheets and pillows, the shower and toilet were dirty. The room wasn't cleaned once in five days, so it was very disgusting to use the bathroom and sleep in that bed. Most of the outlets didn't work and the common room was dirty and had a bad smell. Liked everything about it, especially that the staff was really friendly - they even booked a taxi for mefor to the airport, even though there are always some outside. Furthermore, it was clean, very safe, next to the bus station and in walking distance to O'Connell Street. Would definitely recommend it! Natalija, from Slovenia ~ 2nd Jan 2012

They don't have ensuite rooms but the bathrooms were very clean and I never had to wait. Great amenities! Full kitchen if you want to save money on food, pub, cafe. Light breakfast is included and free wifi. Very secure. Vanessa, from Puerto Rico ~ 17th Nov 2011

Det bar open to late. Its open when you go out for eating. I Think it should open at Four 16.00, mostly we was back at the hostel after our daytours and wanted to relax for a hour or two with a beer before finding a place to eat. Another think, those days i was there, you could show ireland - estonia, Danmark - sweden, England - Spanien, Wales - Norway or other football matches in the basement ón a Big screen. Super clean, every day we saw the staff clean every common room and the bathrooms were never dirty. Absolutely no hot water and the heat was on way too high (you can somewhat turn it down) Train tracks ran right next to it, and paper thin walls made it pretty noisy. But you can't beat the location, and overall it's a great place to stay.

Hi there, Thank you very much for this valuable feedback. We normally have lovely, warm, powerful showers but we had a freak occurance a couple of weeks ago.... Basically our basement flooded as did lots of businesses around Dublin and indeed Ireland last week. We worked through the night pumping water out of the basement and the crew here worked all day Tuesday cleaning up the mess. By Tuesday evening we were back in business. It seemed we were in the clear! Unfortunately, one of our water pumps had malfunctioned, the knock-on effect of this was that a hot water pump gave up on us. When we discovered this it took some time to find a replacement.... time to get the new pump installed. Once this was done we thought we were good to go right? Wrong! While trying to establish what the issue was with the pump, our boss stood on the other pump and it broke in half!!! Back to the suppliers to source a new pump..... get the plumber out of bed once again, get the new pump installed. Job done - back in business! At each stage the staff were told that everything was fixed and then something else would happen. We cannot apologise enough but please be aware that behind the scenes and in the basement we have been toiling endlessly to get this sorted. We have had some hot water and the backup showers in the basement are working perfectly. We are really sorry, it was a freak flood and none of us expected that the pump would be trampled on and broken. We are all back up and running now with plenty of hot water in all of the showers and no flooding in the basement....phew! I really hope that you consider staying with us again. Yvonne.

The hostel is located very close to the central bus and train station. We were there for 5 nights, and the entire time, there was no hot water for showers on any of the floors and the washrooms on our floor (the third floor) were all out of service. We were told by staff to use the washrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor - this was a bit inconvenient. For hot showers we were told to go to the basement (which had only 6 stalls). The staff were not too concerned about guest inconveniences.
