We have stayed at a few other hostels before - and perhaps we have had particularly good experiences in those - but this hostel seemed to be average. We have paid the same price for other hostels that are newly refurbished but still homely. The facilities are good large kitchen with microwave/toaster/ovens and dining room, however everything seemed a little old and could do with revamping. However the staff and some guests were nice and helpful. The hostel is a quaint victorian house. stepherika, from England ~ 15th Oct 2012

It was a little different from the other hostels I have lived in. Mostly the hostels are youth hostel where the atmosphere is a little energetic, not the case here. Be careful as when we were there a lot of things were being stolen and even a car broken into. Old house, saw a mouse in the kitchen, lots of stairs up to room in attic. Reception is not 24 hours. Other than that staff were helpful, got a good rest. Sarah, from New Zealand ~ 10th Jul 2012

Hostel is a decent place to stay for the price, especially since its the only hostel in Minneapolis, but for those of you who have become used to staying at hostels, this one is a bit of a dissappointment.Anyone who has stayed at IHSP or HI in Chicago will be very dissapointed.Then again, Minneapolis isn't as cool a city as Chicago, so they go hostel goes hand-in-hand with the liveliness of the city you are travelling to. I stayed at this hostel in early June 2012.It was absolutely the only hostel I could find in Minneapolis.From what I remember, it was only about a two-mile walk or a 15-ish minute bus ride to downtown.The area was a little scary at night with few streetlights and the entrance around the back of the hostel, but it is an inexpensive and good place to stay, especially if you are traveling with others.Kitchen is available for guest use, and staff were friendly.
