Mitraa Backpackers Inn in Singapore, Singapore

Staff was incredibly friendly. Room was clean and comfortable though a bit musty. Location also seemed safe, but not a lot nearby and a bit farther from the harbor than I might stay next time (though still only a few metro stops). Only real issue was that our room was on an inside wall (so no window), but also that happened to share a wall with the night club next door that made it impossible to sleep without earplugs. Really nice hostel! You can set the temperature of AC, have a hot shower, pretty clean room, free internet access (wi-fi), free "unlimited" breakfast (Bread, Spread, Tea, Coffee, Boiled Egg, and Fruits) until 10:30 AM, very nice staff, and also really cheap ! This was our first experience staying in a hostel and we were surprise of how nice the room and staff were. The staff was polite, excellent and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Mitraa. Our room was clean and the ac worked great. We will stay there again on future trips. It was close to the MRT, buses, and taxis. Very average hostel. No atmosphere to talk about, although it is new and clean. The security lockers that are under the bunk beds in the dorms are totally worthless though and some you can open even after you have locked them! Breakfast is ok. WiFi works all right. Great location though and the staff is nice and friendly and even helped me book my bus ticket to Malaysia. I would not stay here again because of the lack of atmosphere and useless security lockers. We went on a family trip to Singapore - a family of kids, couples and seniors:) We were in a six beded dorm - the room is basic with comfortable beds with clean sheets with a washroom: exactly what we wanted. What amazed me was the comfort factor that the staff tend to create - my folks and kids were made to feel absolutely comfortable and truly at home.
