Not a bad place, but I wasn't there long. The lift was broken when I was there (and I was on the 5th floor!) but they were trying to get it fixed. My main issues were that they needed more internet access (only 8 PC's for the whole hostel, but they were quick) and the seperate shower room/toilets on each floor weren't the best design.

Nice atmosphere around the lounge/bar and the place is fairly new. However, the place has paper thin construction and all noises can be heard. If you want a good sleep, be sure to bring ear plugs. In general a good place but for the money, I would probably try another place next time.

this place is really great. one fault was that the sinks were blocked in almost all the showers/restrooms. but i changed hostels for the last night of my trip, just because they didn't have any rooms left, and let me tell you there is no comparison - i'd go back to Nomads any time.

I don't have much experience staying in hostels, but I was delightfully surprised with my stay at Nomads. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and I felt very safe staying there. It was a good location from the Southern Cross Station and from downtown, so I could walk everywhere. I was really only there to sleep and shower, so I can't really comment on the character, but there was an on-site bar and outdoor patio which seemed to encourage mingling.

My friends and I had a great time at the bar (Industry) and met tons of different people. The location was great! We literally walked everywhere in Melbourne. Would recommend to anyone!

I stayed at Nomads for a week and I do not recommend this place unless you just want to party. It's loud in the corridors way past midnight with drunk people yelling. The toilets and showers were not very clean and in two out of four toilets, the fossetts were broken and never got fixed during the whole week. If you are 18 years old and just want to get shit-faced, this is the place for you. If you want to stay clean and get a good night's sleep, it's not.
