The owner raised the prices double what was quoted to us along with the taxi from airport fare. Also they would not recognize the 10% down payment fee I paid to hold the room. They said it went to hostels.com. After complaining a few nights later they moved us to a room on the 2nd floor that was smaller and had water flooding the whole floor from the bathroom in the hall. We left and went to Rotana.

Great location, clean and secure rooms. Mustafa at the desk is very friendly and helped set us up with a driver for the day to visit Giza, Saqqara, and Memphis (skip the side trips to the papyrus factory and the carpet school and it's well worth the money). Thanks!

Mustafar and all the others were great. The atmosphere is welcoming and the location is terrific for easy access to taxis and restaurants. Good clientele with helpful insights. For the money, GREAT!

I've stayed at several hostels in Egypt , however the Nubian is hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed at . It's clean , the rooms are well equipped and it's located in a very trendy area of downtown Cairo , full of Shisha Cafes and restaurants , even a few bars . Tamir and Magdi are the best hostel hosts I've ever meet , really genuine and helpful guys . I give this hostel 100% .
