Level of service you'd expect rom a £10 hostel, but for £31 (including the £1 debit card surcharge that they have to add for some reason) - luckily I only had to stick around for one night. Very uncomfortable, dirty, one very rude staff member. Location's a bonus, but there are better hostels. William, from England ~ 16th May 2013

Terrible showers, everything else was really nice. Grant, from USA ~ 25th Feb 2013

Sweet place to stay and I'll definitely sleep here again the next time I'm in London. I've been to my fair share of hostels, but the curtains in front of each bed really make a difference. You feel like you're having your own private room while trying to sleep. Nevertheless you can mingle once you're awake. Perfect! Everything has been clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. Top notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, as were the bathrooms and showers. The breakfast was a little limited, but still free, and the staff was outstanding. James, from USA ~ 31st Dec 2012

I stayed in three hostel during my London visit and this one was the best! The staff were really helpful and friendly. Though it's not super close to things like London Town or Leicaster Square the tube station is less than 5 minutes away. It was in a great neighborhood with plenty of places around to eat from. I would definitely stay here again. Taylor, from USA ~ 31st Dec 2012

There were way too many beds (14) crammed into a room that should have held 8 at the very most. The room was hot, stuffy, had only one accessible window, and the floor was not cleaned the entire time I stayed there (4 nights) and was visibly dirty by the end of my stay.At about $45 per night, it was overpriced for the quality of the room. The restrooms were fairly clean, the staff reasonably nice but not overly friendly, and the breakfast bland.Overall I would not recommend this hostel. This is an excellent hostel. There are enormous, secure lockers beneath the beds and the curtains around each individual bed makes sleeping in a large dorm feel much more private. The facilities are very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. It is a fair hike to central London but given the convenience of the tube this doesn't matter, especially given how good most facilities are for the price! Laundry very expensive at 4 pound a load. Guest kitchenette poor if self-catering is your plan. Lauren, from Australia ~ 19th Dec 2012

I think for London and for the price, Palmers Inn at Swiss Cottage is great. The dorm beds have curtains which is a nice feature for privacy. I loved the breakfast, the charm of the common areas, and the staff were quite helpful. My only issue was there being very few sinks on the bottom floor bathroom, but otherwise it was a great stay. a safe, quiet, extremely clean hostel - all very much appreciated qualities after hosteling for some time.this hostel is great if you don't enjoy being woken up at 3 am by drunk 18 year olds (i was one of them once but i'm a bit older now and appreciate my sleep :))only downside is you can only get wifi in common areas.staff are great, particularly habina (i think i spelled it wrong) she's incredible, so genuinely helpful and sweet. 2 min walk to tube station.amazing.
