We stood in a ten-bed-dormitory which was so small that we could not even turn around in it. It was not even possible to close the door so that there was light and noise coming in from the hall all night.
There was no soap in the bathrooms to wash your hands. The bathrooms in general were pretty disgusting.
In our last night at the hostel there was no electricity in our room so we had no light which made it really hard to pack our bags. The guy at the reception did not care at all when we told

this hostel is not for the fainthearted. it's in a prettynice olderbuilding but it is badly in need of a good cleaning and a paint job. the staff is pretty much unseen except when he takes your money. then the staff disappear into their staff room never to be seen again. the locations is not bad but it is not enough to recommend this hostel to anyone.

Amazing location, very cheap and staff laid back. Bit too many blood and other stains on the mattress for our liking and the 'lockers' were pretty vulnerable too. We would happily stay again though

Fortunately I stayed at this hostel for only one night. It was not a hostel. it was like an apartment. When I entered to the room, Oh Gosh, it was dirty and untidy. ALthough the locker was provided, it was in a poor condition. Let say, the locker (drawer) was under your bed with a key. It would be easily opened and your belonging could be stolen if you just lifted the mattress. Anwyay, the only one staff seemed nice and helpful..

Prima Hostel is okay, not big, though. a tip: it is much easier to take the metro than the bus to the hostel.

The guy messed up with our extra booking but the owner had another hostel in town so they put us there which was nice. Location is great: 7 min from the cathedral and 10 from Oktogon. Not a party hostel.

Nice hostel really close to metro and tram / bus. Would have liked to have had more orientation on arriving to hostel, as I got to know of certain facilities much later than desired. Receptionists ok. Ideal place for those who wouldn't like to spend a lot. Small problem was smell of gas in corridor, however would definitely return to same hostel if I go back to Budapest and will recommend it to friends. Budapest itself is also an excellent destination although almost no one speaks english.
