This hostel is more of a long term place rather than short term. It's a big place and its clean but it had not atmosphere. I was given an 8 bed room to myself at the very back of the hostel - very isolating. If your looking to meet people on a short trip pass this place over . Rebecca, from Canada ~ 18th Feb 2013

Their wifi is free and its really good. Normally when you go to a hostel and they offer "free wifi" its pretty terrible. There was never any problems with connectivity and it was pretty fast. John, from USA ~ 1st Oct 2012

I'm studing in Bath this semester and will stay at the Rock & Bowl again anytime I need a place to stay up the road in Bristol. Extremely friendly staff. Secured storage area for laptops and bags. Sufficiently clean rooms. One of the bathrooms isn't great, but it's being remodeled apparently, and there are plenty of others to use, too. Location-wise it's perfect, a couple blocks from the bus/coach station and literally across the street from the modern Broadmead shopping district, and near t Tobin, from USA ~ 23rd Sep 2012

Pretty cool hostel, the rooms were nice and clean as well as roomy. I loved the bowling that was just a couple stairs away! The area that this hostel is in, seems to be down a bunch of ally ways and seems a little shady late at night. During the day it's not too bad though. We slept amazing and had very thoughtful roommates in this hostel. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone. Although try and stay inside during the night and not in the ally ways. Great central location. Really helpful & friendly staff & Clean to boot! Needed a iron - no problem, needed to do some printing - no problem & needed to stay an extra night - ditto. Bar & beer garden downstairs pretty nice, obviously bowling too if that's your thing. Good atmosphere overall, and great mix of people. About 15 mins walk from Temple Meads Station- worth the walk to help get your bearings & the instructions given here aren't to bad to help with that for a change.
