This hostel is right NeXT to the red lightbox district and in a very touristic area so its very busy around with many places to eat and it's 5 min from Dam Square.The staff is amazing especialy Judith! They offer free city tours daily. The enviroment is amazing very cosy and if you are a solo traveler this is the best option. The only thing its that the facilities are old so it looks really old.... Extremely clean and in a fantastic location to walk almost anywhere. Even though I didn't want to participate in any of the Christian activities, the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. This hostel is definitely better for the younger crowd. Olivia, from USA ~ 27th Mar 2013

Shelter city is quite good hostel for budget. Location is good. It is close from Cetraal station & China town & red light district. Many of tourists' spots are in walking distance. It is a Christian hostel, but, no one enforces you to join a group. They offer nice breakfast every morning. Room & facilities are pretty clean and good. Most of staffs are good as well.
