The hostel was extremely convenient for whistler village. The bus stop and greyhound stop were just across the road. The room i stayed in was spacious and contained a fridge and microwave which was very convenient. The hostel is shabby but for the price it was fine. Sally, from England ~ 19th Sep 2012

This hostel was definitely good value for money. It's close to the bus stop and creekside shops. There's a great diner downstairs and Max was very helpful. We ended up staying an extra 7 nights than we originally planned and it was no hassle at all. We were new to Whistler and the Southside Lodge was a great place to start. Enjoyed my time there. Max was very helpful with information about the hostel and had fantastic info about the area, where to eat, transport, trails etc. Would be happy to stay there again, when I'm next in town. Simon, from Australia ~ 12th Jul 2012

The hostel itself was good, clean and cofortable. Nice sized rooms with everything you need. On the other hand, the lady running the show was moody and never smiled. Very bossy and felt like we were living with a very strict mother. We had mugs in our room from coffee, and she yelled at us and left rude little signs all over the place telling us what to do. And then, she couldn't have kicked us out faster when we were leaving. other than that...enjoyable stay :) michelle, from Australia ~ 21st Sep 2011
