i did not spend much time at the hostel, apart from sleeping. i thought that the hostel was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. there is a small kitchen downstairs, which is also clean, and free breakfast, which is something you will not find easily in other nyc hostels. the kitchen gets very crammed though during breakfast, and you might have to have breakfast standing. it is very basic breakfast, with two types of bread and two types of fruit. i only wish they would have h

the location is good .but in harlem. the beds are too small. so I was afraid falling. It's clean and safe. breakfast is about 8:30am. so If you would like to go out early morning, you can't eat them. common room is closed at midnight.

a hostel with NO COMMON area,it is supposed to be the kitchen but the chinese guy from the staff didnt allow us to be there in the early night! we werent noisy at all but just because he didnt want. we couldnt drink a beer there nor at the hostels entrance. LOckers dont work with any lock, only if the lock is big, as much as the hole it has.I liked Harlem, it has very good metro/bus connection with south Manhattan.

The staff was nice, the environment was friendly, and the rooms/bathrooms/shower were all clean. I enjoyed my stay.

Most of the staff was nice; however, one of them was kind of a jerk. Overall, not too bad; dirty but acceptable. Also, there were girls who stayed in our "guys only" room, which was not a problem as they were nice although I found it terribly unprofessional.

I would surely return! Great price and very friendly people. I found the rooms to be accomodating and clean. The kitchen area could have been cleaner, but still was acceptable.

I spent a very nice week at Wanderers Inn West. I stayed in a 6 bunk female dorm room. The linens and blanket were clean, and the bed reasonably comfortable. The two ensuite showers and the ensuite bathroom, which are cleaned daily, were a real plus. A locker is provided for each guest. While some rooms may need larger locks for their lockers, the lockers in my room required small-medium locks. A breakfast of muffins, bagels, fruit and cereal is provided. Security cameras are located throughout

when i go there, they werent able to give me the room i had booked. they then moved me to another room, but someone there had taken my assigned bed, and some of the occupants there were young and inconsiderately noisy both early and late. also, there was an extra $4 "tax" charged per night (above the rate listed on your website), even though i was told by your confirmation email that i onlyhad to pay a specific balance on arrival, i was charged this extra money.
