Okay, this is the BEST place I've ever stayed. Less than a block from the Duomo. Newly opened in December, so everything is shiny, immaculate, gorgeous. A haven in the midst of the centro storico (with a/c, no less). I only regret the cigarette smoking on the terrace, which would otherwise be a relaxing place to sit. The Irish Brothers are delightful! and the staff helpful in every way. Top marks and highly recommended.

This place is really well located. Stayed in the 6 person room, which was massive and 2 levels. Enjoyed that there were no bunkbeds and free breakfast (not much but gets you going in the morning).
like a boutique hotel! supurb location, very clean etc and super spacious. security good with buzz and lockers etc but no lock on dorm room. staff very very helpful and friendly. great to chill on terrace after busy day. best place so far
I really had nothing bad to even remotely say about Academy. Great staff (funny, personable, extremely helpful) and two funny Irishmen that run a pub crawl by night, which is brilliant! In an extremely great location (two minutes from the Duomo, five from the Accademia, five from the shops) and was fairly quiet at night. Really clean bathrooms and beds, supplied lockers, reading lights (this one caught me off-guard, a portable reading light....), and towels. Had computers and a satellite tv if you just wanted to take some time off, or a terrace if you wanted to chill with a drink and some new-found friends. Great little breakfast with the most amazing juice... I could go on and on for forever. This is just a really great place and I highly recommend staying here!

The Hostel is really close to everything, (but that's not hard to do in Florence). Some of the staff are great and others not so great. It is a very new Hostel also. However, our room was not air conditioned. One of the staff said it was broken, but I didn't see any air conditioning vents or machines in the room. Anyways, that made it impossible to sleep at night, we were sweating so bad!
